Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Work Schedule

Evening/Night shifts, primarily 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM or 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM
Weekend and holiday rotation based on operational needs

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years

Required Skills and Competencies

Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start

Required Licenses and Certifications

Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association (AHA) only
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Required Testing and Compliance

Telemetry pass/fail testing (Adult Telemetry test prior to start; Pediatric Telemetry during orientation if applicable)
Background checks including:
- Nationwide criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Sex offender registry check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks monthly after hire
Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID form (state-mandated)
Drug screening per Vaya standard (clinical candidates)
Education verification as applicable
Physical exam (to meet agency standard, not facility required)
Immunizations and health documents including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer, with exemptions accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form if declining
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof (if applicable)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (if working in Microbiology)
Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Wisconsin
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience working with adult and pediatric patients
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment
Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Skills checklist annually
Employment application and 2 clinical references within the last 3 years
