Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel/Contract)

Location: Calabasas, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with total joint experience for a travel contract in an ambulatory surgery center. This is a day shift position with occasional weekend requirements.


Schedule

  • Shift: 8 hours per day, between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Weekend work: Occasional
  • Floating: Not required
  • On-call: Not required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
  • Minimum 1 year of Total Joint experience
  • Ambulatory Care experience
  • Ortho Trauma experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 6 months, including:
    • 7-year county residence history
    • Nationwide criminal search
    • Sex offender search
    • Federal district court search
    • International criminal search if applicable
  • Education verification of highest level completed
  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
  • Fit test for N95 or equivalent mask within 1 year, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory during flu season)
  • Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
  • Two professional references required, at least one supervisory

Orientation and Competency Testing

  • Pass/fail EKG competency assessment during orientation (specific units only)
  • Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification check
  • Competency exams with minimum passing score of 80% (two attempts allowed)
  • Fire safety card required within first 6 months (training provided onsite during orientation)
  • Photo for badge must meet strict requirements (passport-style photo)

Additional Notes

  • No scheduling requests can be accommodated
  • Preference for candidates interested in converting to permanent employment
