Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

Location: Purcell, Oklahoma
Setting: Long Term Care (LTC)
Shift: Days

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Oklahoma
• Occupational Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience in a Long Term Care or Rehabilitation setting
• Occupational Therapist Assistant experience

Responsibilities

• Provides rehabilitative treatment under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist
• Administers rehabilitation procedures such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment
• Reports treatment effectiveness to the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Provides consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Communicates with the supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
• Provides input for discharge summary of services
• Documents required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records
• Records treatment minutes accurately
• Participates in required meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences
• Works with the supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain necessary DME or supplies
• May supervise and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist
