Job Opportunity: PET CT Technologist
Location: Roseville, California
Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a PET/CT Technologist, you will use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the imaging process. You will demonstrate technical competence by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images that aid accurate diagnosis and treatment. The role requires flexibility to work in various settings such as outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospital-based facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
- Adhere to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation when handling radioactive materials and patients.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
- Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators.
- Troubleshoot scanners, mobile units, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- CPR certification
- Certification as CNMT, NMTCB, or ARRT (N)
- Certification as ARRT (CT)
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of PET and/or PET/CT experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in either X-ray or CT imaging in conjunction with PET/PET/CT
- Nuclear Medicine experience
- X-Ray Technician experience
Additional Information
- High school diploma or GED required.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- California Nuclear Medicine license required.
- Experience with Siemens Trinion PET/CT equipment is a plus.
- State licensure required.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of PET and/or PET/CT experience (dual certified) or 1-2 years PET/PETCT imaging experience (non-dual certified).
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
