Job Opportunity: PET/CT Technologist

Location: Santa Cruz, California
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

As a PET/CT Technologist, you will use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the imaging process. You will demonstrate technical competence by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images that aid accurate diagnosis and treatment. The role requires flexibility to work in various settings such as outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospital-based facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
  • Adhere to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation when handling radioactive materials and patients.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators.
  • Troubleshoot imaging equipment, including scanners, mobile units, monitors, PACS, and coils.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of high school education or its equivalent.
  • Valid CT Technologist license in California.
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
  • Certification as a CNMT and/or NMTCB or ARRT (N).
  • Certification as ARRT (CT).
  • BLS certification.
  • X-Ray Technician experience.
