Respiratory Therapist Travel Position - Iowa, Spirit Lake

Job Overview

• Work in fast-paced Inpatient and Outpatient Respiratory Therapy and Pulmonary Rehab departments.
• Serve a wide range of patients from newborn to geriatric populations.
• Provide compassionate care and collaborate effectively with hospital staff, physicians, and external agencies.
• Perform daily respiratory therapies, respond to all codes with airway management, and conduct diagnostic testing as ordered.
• Assist with clerical, clinical, and diagnostic respiratory care duties including scheduling and performing procedures.
• Use equipment and systems such as Meditech, Complete Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), treadmill stress tests, home sleep studies, Holter monitors, and EKG.

Schedule

• Primarily 9-hour evening shifts, approximately 36 hours per week.
• Includes weekend rotation and call rotation.
• May work alone depending on skill set.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa.
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year.
• Completion of high school.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
• Experience with MEDITECH.

Orientation and Training

• Basic hospital orientation provided.
• Department-specific orientation tailored to individual skill set.

Dress Code

• Scrubs with no color preference.
• Solid color pants with solid or patterned tops.
• Closed-toe shoes.
• Tattoos should be covered as much as possible.
• No artificial hair colors (e.g., blue, pink, purple).
• Piercings limited to ears and nose; gauging is limited.

• No floating to other units or departments.
