Job Opportunity: Therapist
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide general respiratory care floor therapy including nebulizer therapy, EzPAP, IPV, CPAP, BiPAP, Acapella, CPT, Vest therapy, ABGs, and use of various oxygen delivery devices.
- Utilize equipment such as EPIC computerized charting system, Omnicell medication system, Pyxis medical supplies system, Vision and V60 BiPAP machines, Focus and Synchrony CPAP/BiPAP machines, and high flow systems.
- Assigned to different floors based on departmental needs.
- Large department with available resources and assistance; employee will not work alone.
- Dress code requires wine color scrubs with logo wear for tops/jackets.
- Orientation includes hospital and department training during the first week with a dedicated preceptor for three 12-hour shifts, followed by support as needed in the second week. After orientation, transition to 8-hour evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory care on floors or at least 1 year of ICU respiratory care experience.
- Active Nebraska Respiratory Therapist (RT) license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Trach experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system (preferred but not required).
Schedule & Work Environment
- Shift: Evening 8-hour shifts after orientation.
- Floating to different units/floors as needed.
- No solo work; support always available.
- Scheduling restrictions should be disclosed in advance.
This position is suitable for respiratory therapists with solid clinical floor skills and some ICU experience, looking for a contract role in a supportive, resource-rich environment.

Ethics are questionable at best, M/S unit demands higher acuity of care than most hospitals M/S units; a lot of the nurses are inexperienced.
