Job Opportunity: PET/CT Technologist
Location: Muncie, Indiana
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
As a PET/CT Technologist, you will use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety. You will produce high-quality PET/CT diagnostic images by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate imaging parameters. The role requires flexibility to work in various environments such as outpatient centers, mobile coaches, or hospital-based facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
- Adhere to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation when working with radioactive materials/patients.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
- Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
- Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators.
- Troubleshoot scanners, mobile coaches, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).
- Local travel within Indiana may be required.
Required Qualifications
For Dual Certification PET/CT Technologist:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid state driver’s license as applicable.
- Dual certification as a Nuclear Medicine and Computed Tomography Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT(N) and ARRT(CT)).
- State license as applicable.
- Minimum of 1 year of PET and/or PET/CT experience plus experience in either X-ray or CT.
For Non-Dual Certification PET/CT Technologist:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine required (NMTCB or ARRT (RT-N)) and state license as applicable.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid state driver’s license as applicable.
- Minimum of 1-2 years PET/PETCT imaging experience with adequate training in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be capable of venipuncture.
- Willingness to work at different locations within Indiana is required.
- Local travel may be required.
Experience Requirements Summary
- Specialty Years of Experience: 1-2 years PET/PETCT imaging experience (use higher value: 2 years if non-dual certification).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
