NIHSS
Driver’s license required at submittal

Experience / Work Expectations

Must be able to titrate drips
Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
May float to ICU if appropriate and experienced

Stepdown/PCU setting
22 beds
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
Common patient types include heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke

Scheduling / Assignment Notes

Cyclic scheduling
Every other weekend required
1 major and 1 minor holiday required
1 department-specific orientation shift
RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved

Compliance / Workplace Policies

Radius rule: candidates must live more than 50 miles away
Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
Candidates may not have worked full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity within the past year
Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas

Interview / Screening

Pass/fail exam during orientation
Open-book skills exam; 90% required to pass
