Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (4 days per week)
Hours: 9-hour shifts (06:30 AM – 06:00 PM), 36 hours per week

Job Description

• Work in Interventional Radiology department with 6 labs/suites including pre-op and phase 2 recovery areas.
• Average caseload: 20-30 cases per day.
• Patient types include GI bleeds, strokes, biopsies, central lines, drains, and vascular cases.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 during procedures, up to 1:4 in phase 2 recovery.
• Use of EPIC electronic medical records and Phillips monitors.
• Surgical scrubs provided.
• Orientation: 5 days unit/department specific plus 12 non-billable orientation hours.
• No floating required.
• Charge RN available on shift (07:30 AM – 05:00 PM) who does not take patients but assists with cases and lunch coverage.
• Support staff includes 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT).

Call and Scheduling Requirements

• Primary and secondary call: 6-8 shifts every 6 weeks, including weekends.
• Holiday call required; department closed on holidays.
• Call response time: 30 minutes.
• Not self-scheduling.

Required Certifications and Skills

• Current Illinois RN license or proof of application initiation.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• EKG interpretation skills required.
• Experience with drip titration required.
• Must comply with drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels.

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius.
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty or pay obligation.
