Occupational Therapist (Outpatient OT) - Monterey, CA
Job Details
- Location: Monterey, California
- Setting: Outpatient rehabilitation clinic
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
- Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with 30-minute lunch)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
- Patient Population: Adults undergoing total joint replacements, complex spine cases, urology, gynecology, and general surgery
- Work Environment: Fast-paced, working alongside a registered nurse and nurse’s aide
- Facility Notes:
- 5 treatment bays and 3 private rooms
- 2 rehab aides available
- Business attire with lab coat required (no scrubs)
- No weekend or holiday requirements for outpatient travelers
- Floor-specific orientation provided (1 day)
- Ability to work independently immediately is expected
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments for patients undergoing elective surgery with anesthesia focus (functional status, cardiac, respiratory)
- Conduct comprehensive medication reconciliation
- Provide neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation services
- Work under the anesthesiologist in the Perioperative Clinic (pre-procedure testing)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience
- Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Information
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
- Cancellation policy varies with contract length; 26-week contracts have double cancellation policy
- Interview availability and return-to-office (RTO) requirements must be submitted with application
- No floating assignments
