Occupational Therapist (Outpatient OT) - Monterey, CA

Job Details

  • Location: Monterey, California
  • Setting: Outpatient rehabilitation clinic
  • Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
  • Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with 30-minute lunch)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours
  • Patient Population: Adults undergoing total joint replacements, complex spine cases, urology, gynecology, and general surgery
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced, working alongside a registered nurse and nurse’s aide
  • Facility Notes:
    • 5 treatment bays and 3 private rooms
    • 2 rehab aides available
    • Business attire with lab coat required (no scrubs)
    • No weekend or holiday requirements for outpatient travelers
    • Floor-specific orientation provided (1 day)
    • Ability to work independently immediately is expected
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments for patients undergoing elective surgery with anesthesia focus (functional status, cardiac, respiratory)
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reconciliation
  • Provide neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation services
  • Work under the anesthesiologist in the Perioperative Clinic (pre-procedure testing)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience
  • Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

  • No weekend or holiday shifts required
  • Cancellation policy varies with contract length; 26-week contracts have double cancellation policy
  • Interview availability and return-to-office (RTO) requirements must be submitted with application
  • No floating assignments

  • Experience in outpatient occupational therapy with neuro and orthopedic rehab patients preferred
