Job Summary

Seeking a Surgical Technologist with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience to support a 9-suite OR, including a dedicated cardiac suite. The role involves scrubbing for complex cardiac cases and floating to other areas such as the cath lab and sterile processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub for cardiac surgeries including CABG, open heart, mitral valve replacement, DaVinci cardiac procedures, and mitral clips.
• Float to the cath lab to assist with TAVR procedures.
• Assist in sterile processing department (SPD) with pulling cases, instrument management, and room turnover.
• Float to main OR as needed.
• Participate in call rotations covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays with a 30-minute call response time.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification via NBSTSA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience required; at least 1 year of CVOR experience is mandatory.
• First-time travelers considered only if they have at least 2 years of OR experience.

Scheduling & Orientation

• Shift options include 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM (10-hour shifts preferred but flexible).
• Self-scheduling for 2-3 weeknights per 6-week rotation (11 PM - 7 AM).
• Weekend call coverage from 7 PM Friday through 7 AM Monday in 12-hour increments.
• On-call rotation for holidays and to fill scheduling gaps.
• Orientation length varies from 3 days up to 2 weeks depending on experience, with specialty-specific training.

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Charge nurse and lead staff available on each shift; charge nurse does not carry a case load during normal hours.
• Call rooms are available for overnight shifts.
• Dress code and scrub color are provided by the facility.
• Positive attitude, teamwork, and adaptability to facility protocols are highly valued.
