Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Must have at least 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (higher experience requirement confirmed)
Ability to independently manage antepartum and laboring patients
Experience with inductions, vaginal deliveries, c-section deliveries and recoveries, OB circulations, and high-risk OB patients
Ability to provide couplet care (labor and post-partum) and float between units

Care for patients undergoing inductions, vaginal deliveries, c-section deliveries, and recoveries
Manage antepartum and high-risk obstetric patients
Work with a variety of cultures in a 10 labor bed and 16 post-partum bed unit
Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines
Collaborate with OB tech, PRN nurse aides, and second tech support
Use of EPIC electronic medical records system is highly desired
Administer medications such as oxytocin, magnesium, fluids, epidurals, and blood pressure medications
Use IV pumps and sequential compression devices (SCDs)
Maintain patient oxygen saturation levels (typically around 98%)

12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Work 2-3 shifts on the floor
Every third weekend required, with possible every other weekend depending on need
Orientation includes classroom training followed by 2-3 shifts on the floor

Must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with certain affiliated facilities
Driver’s license required to verify distance
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
Navy blue dress code for 12-hour night shifts
