Job Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
- Location: Phoenix, Arizona
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum contract length)
- Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital
- Unit: Adult ICU with some NICU preferred experience
- Shift:
- 12-hour shifts
- 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
- 3 shifts per week
- Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month
- Holiday rotation required
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of strong ICU experience in Respiratory Therapy
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC (required)
- Arizona RT license (must have in hand)
- BLS Certification (required)
- NRP required if working with NICU patients
- ACLS preferred
- Additional Skills:
- Proficient with at least one ventilator: Servo I, Jets, Oscillators
- Must be able to assist with bronchoscopies
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Other Requirements:
- Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital experience required
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts) for certain units
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Must have own vehicle for travel teams
- Cannot hold multiple contracts simultaneously within this system
- Must have been off permanent staff in the system for 12 months before travel assignment
Job Responsibilities
- Manage 35-40 procedures (RVUs) per day
- Run all vents including bipap V60 and cpap
- Respond to Clinical Response Team calls as lead on duty every shift
- Responsible for all arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Assigned to specific areas daily, no floating to outpatient areas
- Work collaboratively in a high-acuity environment requiring strong time management and communication skills
- Participate in unit orientation: 2 days on regular floor then skills validation
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience is required for Emergency Department and Neuro ICU roles
