Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: 4th Floor East Wing
  • Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Number of Beds: 55
  • Patient Population: Adults primarily; pediatric patients rarely, age 15 and older
  • RN to Patient Ratio: 1:4 (both day and night shifts)
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Shift Times: 06:30–18:30, 18:30–06:30
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
  • Nursing Assistant Support: Yes
  • Charge Nurse: Yes
  • Additional Unit Support Staff: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy

  • Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA)
  • Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)
  • Shortness of Breath

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Additional Information

  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
  • Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
  • Orientation Exam: RN candidates must pass a 90% or higher on an open book skills exam during orientation
  • Float: Yes, ideally to Medical-Surgical areas depending on unit needs
  • Patient Experience Focus: Hourly rounding and responsiveness
  • Unit Culture: Team-oriented with strong peer support; success depends on managing daily unit operations effectively
  • Radius Rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot currently be employed part-time, full-time, or PRN with certain affiliated facilities
  • Driver’s License: Required at time of submission to verify distance eligibility
