Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Coordinate nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Administer medications and treatments.
Use EMR systems (Meditech).
Charge Nurse assignment.
8-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
No floating to other departments.
Unit has 12 beds with a team nursing model.
Dress code: clean and professional attire.
Orientation includes assignment to a mentor.

Required Qualifications

Active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment.
Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing.
BLS certification required.
NCI or other crisis prevention training required.

Additional Information

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
Nurse to patient ratio follows a team model.
