Respiratory Therapist - Nights

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care for patients ranging from birth to geriatric.
• Accountable for all respiratory care ordered by physicians.
• Operate, maintain, and monitor cardiopulmonary equipment including ventilators, oxygen devices, Vapotherm, PAP, etc.
• Administer inhaled medications and prescribed gases.
• Perform arterial, capillary, and venous sticks and testing; operate ABG instruments for blood gas analysis.
• Act as a clinical resource; assist with decision-making, assessment, treatment, and documentation of respiratory care.
• Review patient charts and obtain pertinent history prior to therapy or procedures.
• Perform accurate patient assessments and order appropriate therapies based on evaluation and treatment protocols.
• Document patient assessments, care plans, evaluations, treatments, procedures, medications, equipment setup, supply charges, time outs for procedures, and critical values.
• Ensure physician orders are correct in the electronic medical record; verify verbal orders are documented per policy.
• Perform night shift duties as required by the cardiopulmonary department.
• Perform EKGs upon order or request.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wyoming
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience, including experience within the last year
• Proficient in arterial puncture (ART) skills
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is required.
• Must be willing to work night shifts.
• Candidates with a permanent address within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract.
