Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Behavioral Health) - Contract in Alaska

Job Summary

This position involves providing behavioral health support directly to patients and their families. Responsibilities include conducting mental health evaluations, preparing treatment plans, crisis counseling, and maintaining exceptional documentation. The role requires coordination with state and federal agencies, community services, and interdisciplinary teams to support patients' unique healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psycho-social interviews to assess the impact of illness on patients and families.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and patient care conferences.
• Coordinate discharge planning and make referrals for home or social services, equipment, or supplies.
• Provide therapeutic support, education, and crisis intervention to patients and families.
• Manage assigned caseload and document assessments and plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and community agencies to support patient care.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional communication at all times.
• Work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with addictions, homelessness, and severe mental illness.
• Utilize electronic health records and other technology proficiently.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in Alaska
• Minimum of 2 years of Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient healthcare social work settings
• Certification as a National Association of Black Clinical Social Workers (NABCS) preferred
• Strong knowledge of ethical practices, case management, community resources, and recovery skills
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Competence in electronic health records and common office software
