LPN/LVN - Rehab (Travel Position)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care in a 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab.
- Patient population consists of adults with high acuity needs, often referred from a Trauma Center.
- The unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit with high acuity patients.
- Patient ratio is approximately 1 nurse to 7 patients.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend plus holiday rotations
- Call requirements: Yes
- Breaks: Two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid break per shift
- May be required to float to a satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the near future
- Staff must adhere to attendance and tardy policies and are not permitted to stay past shift end without approval
Required Qualifications
- Valid LPN / LVN license in Wisconsin
- LPN / LVN (2 years of experience)
- LPN / LVN experience within the last year
- BLS
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience in a rehabilitation setting
- Med Surg experience
- Experience with Epic
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with patient care including helping CNAs and responding to call lights to ensure patient safety
- Use mobility equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards, vital machines, EKG machines, blood glucose monitors, and computers for charting in EPIC
