• Nights, 7 PM to 7 AM

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in Louisiana
• Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience within the last year
• One year of approved clinical laboratory experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology, or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA regulation requirements
• MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or CLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) or MT(AMT) or MLS(AMT) or CLS(AMT) or MLT(AMT) or MT(AAB) or MLS(AAB) or CLS(AAB) or MLT(AAB)
• Certification must be maintained and kept current if it has an expiration date

Experience

• No experience required for graduates of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS or other organizations approved by HHS

Work Conditions

• No call
• No floating

Key Duties

• Perform routine and complicated laboratory procedures
• Process patient specimens and report results
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
• Follow quality control procedures
• Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed
• Use the Laboratory Information System
• Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values
• Participate in developing and implementing new or updated testing procedures and protocols
