Travel RN role in San Antonio, Texas.
Unit: Tele/PCU Cardiac Unit.
29 private rooms.
36 hours per week.
Contract length: 13 weeks.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
Telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

NIH Stroke Prepared
PALS
ICU experience
Tele experience
PCU experience

Unit Details

Staffed with RT, RN, CN, Throughput manager, Case Manager, Rehab, Director/Manager, and Ancillary support.
Day shift staffing includes 1 CN, 2 PCT, 1 UC, and 7 RNs, with sitters if needed.
Night shift staffing includes 1 CN, 2 PCT, and 7 RNs.
Patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5.
Equipment includes telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse ox.
Common procedures include blood transfusions, IV starts, midline/central line removals, and care for high fall risk patients.
Respiratory and cardiac assessments are performed on the unit.

Floating

May float to med surg, Tele, PCU, and ED Holds.

Schedule

Weekends: all.
