Pediatric SLP - Therapy

Employment Type: Travel Location: Dallas, Texas (4th floor) Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours: 36 per week Shift: Day shift only (no night shift) On Call: Not required

Unit Overview

Unit: 75 to 100 bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Therapy Staff: 3-4 OTs/STs provide services. The full PT/OT/ST department has over 65 staff members.
Patient Ratio: 1 therapist to 10-12 patients
Equipment: Dr. Brown bottles, positioning equipment, specialty feeders
Float Scope: Float to all areas of the Children's hospital based on competency, including CICU, PICU, pediatric floors, and NICU if competency is met

Procedures

Infant feeding and swallowing assessments and interventions
Speech language assessments and interventions

Hiring Profile

Most Recruited: Travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters

Required Qualifications

Valid Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Texas
Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist experience, with 1 year of experience including experience within the last year
ASHA Certification
BLS certification
Experience working with infant patients
Infant feeding and dysphagia experience, birth to school age
