RN - OR Circulator (General & Neuro Surgery)

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (10-hour shifts with a limit of 3 Fridays or Mondays off in a 6-week schedule)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours

Job Summary

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) Circulator in the Operating Room
• Specialty: Primarily Neuro Surgery with General Surgery (including Urology, Gynecology, Orthopedics)
• Focus on perioperative patient care, acting as a patient advocate throughout surgical procedures
• Circulating nurse responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating perioperative care

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Neurology experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Flu vaccination required for travel between November 1 and April 1 (exemptions require approval)

Work Environment & Unit Information

• Surgical unit with a variety of cases including Neuro, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, and Orthopedics
• Equipment used: DaVinci Xi robot, Hana Table, Arthrex tower, Beach Chair
• Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
• Call requirements: Rotating weekend call approximately every 6-7 days; scheduled late shifts designated to stay late if needed
• No float requirements
• Dress code: Hospital-provided black scrubs only (no other scrub colors allowed)
