Unit Highlights

• Unit: Cath Lab
• Classification: RN / Tech
• Shift Details:

  • 7A/7P
  • 8-hour mixed shifts (6 AM to 2:30 PM / 2 PM to 10:30 PM)
  • On-call: 10 days/month (includes 1 full weekend)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Required Skills and Experience

• Must Have:

  • BLS/ACLS certification
  • CATH TECHs must be RCIS/ARRT certified
  • RN’s and CVT must have 5 years of experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath/PCI/STEMI

• Preferred Skills:

  • Cath RN: 5+ years of Cath Lab experience
  • Cath CVT/RCIS: must be RCIS with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in Pediatric (congenital heart)

Certifications Required

• Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses are not accepted)
• CATH TECHs must be RCIS/ARRT certified

Procedures Performed

• Diagnostic Cath
• PCI
• Structural heart procedures (TAVR/TMVR)

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Scrubs provided by the department
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy
• Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors
• Facial Hair: Must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

• All travelers are required to float as needed.
• Documentation system used: Meditech
• Floating policy: As needed
