Position Details

• Specialty: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility
• Call Requirements: None
• Schedule Notes:

  • Block scheduling and holiday time off requests cannot be accommodated.
  • Time off requests must be made on submission form and will be limited (1 holiday RTO per assignment).
  • RTO must be made up later; no RTO in the first week.
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability.

Licensure & Certifications

• Required:

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association only)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - can be submitted but must be obtained before start
• Preferred: None specified

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center OR
• 2 years Emergency Department experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center
• Must be indicated on resume
• Preferred experience with trauma, pediatrics, high acuity, and high patient volume (200+ patients/day)

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 68
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge or other circumstances
• EMR System: EPIC
• Type of Patients: Trauma, stroke, STEMI, burn patients

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Follow nursing process and professional accountability
• Work within Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards

Physical & Working Conditions

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
• Work in clean, air-conditioned environment
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
