Unit Information

5th Floor Medical Unit
45 beds
Staff per shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 9-10 RNs, 4-5 MSTs
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 9-10 RNs, 4-5 MSTs
Patient ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse (days and nights)
Equipment: Lifts, dynamap, cardiac monitoring equipment
EMR system: Meditech

Requirements

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Experience in an acute care setting
Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Current certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cardiac and ICU patients
Prior experience using Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures

Cardiac drips and cardiac catheter management
Chest tube management
Wound care
TPN/lipids administration
