Travel RN Opportunity – Med Tele Unit, Springfield, Missouri
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
- Location: Springfield, Missouri
- Employment Type: Travel
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (flexible, must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None

Licensure & Certifications
- Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start if not currently held)
- Preferred Certifications: None specified
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience (inpatient only)
Unit Information
- Unit: Medical Telemetry (Med Tele)
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: Vary by shift; Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
- Float Requirements: Rotational float within the unit
Patient Population
- Medical, medical telemetry, and observation patients
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- May require flexible scheduling based on patient care needs
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Uphold professional accountability and adhere to nursing practice standards, Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and facility policies
- Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by self and other caregivers
Dress Code
- Black scrubs only (no other colors permitted)
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period November 1 – April 1 (no declinations accepted)
- Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made after the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
