Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma Surgical Unit (MS/Tele Trauma 7S)

• Work Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend, holidays as required

• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Unit Description

• The Trauma Surgical Unit primarily cares for acute trauma and surgical patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
• The unit also provides care for orthopedic and urology patients.
• Emphasizes an interdisciplinary team approach involving family practice physicians, hospitalists, and various surgical specialists.
• Focus on individualized patient care for illness, surgery, testing, and observation.

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Licenses: Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact license (No temporary licenses accepted)
• Certifications: AHA BLS or equivalent BLS certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years nursing experience preferred; will consider 18 months if under highest professional license with at least 1 year in specialty field
