Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Toledo, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work hours: May be 0630-1700 OR 0730-1800
  • Average daily census: 25-30 patients
  • Number of rooms: 7
  • Patient age group: Adults and Geriatrics
  • May be floated to Electrophysiology (EP) if Cath Lab/IR cases are low (EP experience preferred)
  • Call required: One weekday per week and every fifth weekend
  • EMR system: Epic
  • Work settings: Outpatient and Inpatient
  • General skills: IV starts, EKGs
  • IR/Angio/Special procedures experience: Stents, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis
  • Must be STEMI ready
  • IABP and Impella training required
  • Scrubs provided
  • No local candidates accepted within 50 miles

Required Qualifications

  • License: ARRT certification required at time of application
  • State License: Ohio Department of Health (ODH) license required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a STEMI/PCI facility (minimum 2 years specialty experience)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Must be STEMI ready
  • IABP and Impella training

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not explicitly required

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, fingerprinting (Ohio BCI and FBI within 12 months), education verification
  • Physical exam within last 12 months (latex-free PPE available)
  • N95 fit test required within 12 months and updated annually (onsite completion possible with approval)
  • Immunizations and titers required or approved exemptions for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years, including at least 1 leader (Charge RN or above)
  • Skills checklist required for all candidates
  • Radiation badge issued by facility (not candidate responsibility)

Work Environment & Other Notes

  • Unit accepts travelers based on experience
  • Call schedule includes weekday and weekend coverage
  • Candidate must be prepared for inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Scrubs provided by facility
