Job Details

• Work every other weekend
• Experience with special equipment including CPT machine, Volera, metaneb, cough assist, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and tracheostomies
• Patient diagnoses include cerebral palsy (CP), spinal cord injury, birth injury, motor vehicle accidents, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Trisomy 21, and Rett syndrome

Required Certifications & Documents

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - preferred but not required
• State License verification (primary source online verification)
• National Tech Certification as applicable
• Background checks including 7-year SS Trace, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG (annual)
• Drug screening (9 panel within 1 year)
• Physical exam within 1 year
• Fit mask (N95) within 1 year, renewed annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific policies for past positives)
• Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu and COVID vaccines are highly recommended but not required; declination forms available with masking requirements in patient care areas

Facility & State Specific Requirements

• Iowa Single Contact Repository (SING) Check within 30 days of assignment start (includes criminal, dependent adult, child abuse, and sex offender searches)
• Child and Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter training (2-hour online course, must be completed prior to start)
• Contractor Confidentiality Agreement
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Skills Checklist required annually
• References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 3 years)
