Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Travel/Contract)
Location: New York, NY
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (includes 60 min break)
Department: Advanced Imaging
Assignment Dates: 02/23/2026 - 04/23/2026
Work Setting: Outpatient location
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography program
- New York State licensure in Radiography
- Certification by NYS to inject contrast media
- ARRT certification in Radiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Diagnostic Imaging with recent relevant MRI experience
- Proficient in EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality-specific software
- Maintain continuing education credits per American Registry of Radiologic Technologists requirements
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Primary Source Verification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Primary Source Verification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Primary Source Verification required
- Current/active tech certification and license with no adverse actions (Radiology: NY License and ARRT)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually)
- State License verification (must be current/active)
- NURSYS verification (as applicable)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 6 months prior to assignment (7-year history including all aliases)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Social Security Verification, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List Search (all within 30 days of start)
- Education Verification (degree/certificate and highest education level)
- Employment Application and 20-year Work History Verification (including relevant and non-relevant employment)
- Two professional references within 2 years of start
- Skills Checklist (annual)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (including vital signs, review of systems, medical history, clearance to work)
- Fit Mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved N95 masks only)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (required if working with pediatrics or children)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Annual TB Questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Vaccine records or positive IgG titers; boosters required if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Antibody and antigen titers or vaccine series with declination form
- Varicella: Positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis C titer within 6 months of start
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Sept-May), no declinations accepted without approved exemption
- Negative 9-panel drug screen with chain of custody within 60 days prior to start (excluding marijuana)
- Chain of Custody form with all drug screens
- Vision screening (Snellen) within 12 months of start
- Color Blind Exam if failed online test twice (Ishihara plates with MD signature required)

- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (online or in-person if needed)
- Competency Exam (as applicable)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility orientation checklist onsite
- Signed confidentiality agreement and staff attestation prior to start
- Completion of required prestart and annual training modules
- Completion of facility-specific code of conduct and other compliance documents
- New York State Central Registry (SCR) and Statewide Exclusion List (SEL) forms and results (as applicable)
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- This is a disaster critical need assignment.
- Candidates must be able to work Monday through Friday during the specified shift hours.
