Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Operating Room Circulating RN - Days)

Location: Weston, West Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (5x8s)
• On-call every 4th weekday, every 4th weekend, and some holidays
• Must be within 30 minutes of the facility while on call

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – Operating Room Circulating
• Required Experience: Minimum 1+ year in specialty (Operating Room nursing)
• Prior travel experience: Preferred (not required)

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – mandatory before start
• Preferred: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Work Setting

• Ambulatory OR and General OR

Skills Required

• Endoscopic Procedures: Colonoscopy, EGD, Laparoscopic assisted cases, PEG tube placement/exchange
• General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical), Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Partial/total Thyroidectomy
• Gynecology: Abdominal/Vaginal hysterectomy, Bilateral tubal ligation, C-sections, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures
• Ophthalmology: Cataract extraction/implant
• Orthopedic: ACL reconstruction, Arthroscopy, Carpal tunnel release, Closed and open reduction of fractures, Total joint replacement
• Pediatric General Surgery: Appendectomy

Preferred Skills

• ENT: Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy
• Endoscopic Procedures: Bronchoscopy

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System

• Cerner

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of RN license verification (recently pulled)
• Minimum 2 clinical/manager references within past 2 years
• Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• COVID vaccine or declination required
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands (initial and annual)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • Drug testing (10 panel within 30 days of start and annually)
• Facility-specific documents such as badge photo, background drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and care learning modules must be completed prior to start
• Competency exams and color blind testing as applicable

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able to start with all required certifications completed; no pending certifications allowed at start
• On-call availability requires proximity within 30 minutes of the facility
• Travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Care learning modules and Cerner training modules must be completed prior to orientation/start date
