Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Melbourne, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work setting: Adult Home Health
• Monday-Friday schedule with weekend rotation (approximately 5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks)
• On-call may be required
• No float required
• Case load ratio: 1:27-30 cases per day
• Opportunity for overtime may be available

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Required years of experience: 2 years (Recent Medicare Home Health experience required)
• Must have post-op surgical home health experience (orthopedic & general surgery)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
• First-time travelers accepted

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Florida State or compact nursing license required at time of submission (pending license not accepted)
• Additional certifications recommended or required depending on unit:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • IV Certification (for LPNs)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (annual renewal required)
  • HIV, Medication Errors, and Alzheimer's certifications required for Home Care

Skills & Experience

• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• OASIS experience required
• Experience with Pleurx drains
• Ability to manage a high case load in home health setting

Work Conditions & Other Requirements

• Scrubs: Any solid color
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31 - 3/31), with medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Two professional references from authority figures (managers, supervisors, charge nurses, or directors) within the last year required
• Background checks and verifications required, including:

  • MVR release
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM checks
  • Monthly HHS/OIG checks
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (required by Florida law for all patient-facing candidates)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict policy on mask types and shaving)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months prior to start
• Required immunizations or titers within 5 years: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Education verification required (certain institutions are not accepted)
• Auto insurance required for Home Health

• Contracted hours are guaranteed
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Return to office (RTO) restrictions apply and must be finalized before offer
• Candidates must complete facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, iCARE values, and badge form
