Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Details
- Role: Interventional Radiology Tech
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 4 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Call Requirements:
- Every other week: 4 PM to 7 AM
- Every other weekend: 24-hour on-call
- Weekend Requirements: On-call every other weekend only
- Holiday Requirements: On-call as needed
- Floating: None
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Patient Volume: Approximately 10 visits per day
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Special Requirements: Assist with sterile procedures in IR and NIL
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Provided
Certifications & Licenses
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification)
- State License: Must be current and verifiable
- Tech Certification Verification: Required as applicable per profession
- Pass/Fail Testing: On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (if applicable)
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check:
- Required within 90 days of start
- Must cover last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
- Includes SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, motor vehicle report (for phlebotomy)
- Education Verification: Diploma or transcript required
- Physical Exam: Required
- TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD or QGold within 1 year (T-Spot not accepted)
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines
- Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines
- Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B - titer, series, or declination
- Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines
- Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start)
- Flu Vaccination: Required or approved medical/religious declination prior to start; documentation must be on file by 12/15 for working candidates
- COVID-19: Medical exemption requests accepted with proper documentation
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo: Passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
- Confidentiality Agreement: Must be signed prior to start
- Modules:
- Completion of facility-specific training modules required before start (approx. 8-10 hours)
- Modules due by 1 PM CST Friday prior to start date
- Returning candidates within 1 year may be exempt from new modules
- Additional Testing: Cardiac rhythms review and on-site EKG exam for Monitor Techs (if applicable)
