Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (MRI Technologist)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Job Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ARRT (MR) certification required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, CHEMO, EFM, CPI, and other specialty certifications may be required depending on unit specifics
• Licensing:

  • State license not required for this position
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years experience preferred at a Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching facility
  • Experience with Siemens MRI equipment is required
  • Experience with anesthesia and pediatric patients preferred
• Skills:

  • MRI Safety knowledge including researching implants and adhering to scanning guidelines
  • Epic and PACS experience preferred
• Travel Restrictions:

  • Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted

Background Checks & Verifications

• Must have current background checks including:

  • County and national criminal background
  • Sex offender search
  • Education verification (official transcripts or diploma acceptable)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Employment and work history verification for the past 7 years required
• References: Two professional references verified within 6 months of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, NP, or PA confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual questionnaire if positive history
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) or boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (chickenpox) or booster if needed
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption annually
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption; booster preferred but not required
• Drug testing within 1 year, updated annually

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Must complete required competency exams including:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency
  • Color Blind Testing
  • Unit-specific competency exams
  • Conscious Sedation competency (if applicable)
  • RN Math Ability competency exam
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required for certain units (including Radiology/Cardiology related areas) with only two attempts allowed
• Skills checklists must be current and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must renew all expiring documents prior to clearance to start or continue assignment
• Various facility-specific policies and agreements must be signed prior to start
• Candidates should be prepared for ongoing annual updates of certifications, health documents, and competency exams during the contract period
