Job Opportunity: CVT / EP Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days x 8 hours, 40 hours/week)
• On-call: Not required
• Weekend Work: Not required
• Floating: Possible floating to like units

Types of Cases Required

• Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
• Permanent Pacemaker Insertions (PPI)
• Pulmonary Artery (PA) Insertion
• Right Heart Catheterization
• Temporary Pacemakers
• Conduction Studies
• Insertion/Programming of AICDs
• Pacemaker Insertion

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year (first-timers accepted if they have previous relevant experience)
• Certifications:

  • ARRT or CCI certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certification only
• Licensure: South Carolina QRSA license required
• Radiation Badge: Required and must be provided by the agency (facility does not provide)
• Other Certifications:

  • PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable (check unit-specific requirements)
  • IV Therapy certification if applicable (for select LPNs)

Compliance & Documentation

• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Includes SSN Trace, Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education Verification: Diploma or transcripts preferred; official verification required
• Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified; attestation letters accepted if verification is not possible
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Employment Application: Complete application or resume required
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Initial and annual physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
• Fit Mask Test: N95 fit test within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
• Immunizations & Testing:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest X-ray if previously positive
  • Annual TB Questionnaire
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days (no instant tests)
  • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records or declination form required

Facility Specifics

• Orientation:

  • Completion of orientation modules prior to start is mandatory
  • Modules take approximately 2 hours and must be completed on a computer (not mobile)
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light background, frontal view only
• Local Radius: 60 miles
• Locals: Accepted on a case-by-case basis

Additional Notes

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• All required documents and certifications must be current and valid at the time of start (no certifications expiring within 30 days of start accepted)
• Radiation badge processing may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start patient care without it
• Candidates with facial hair are encouraged to shave or trim for fit testing; refusal may result in cancellation if unable to provide own PAPR

This position offers a structured day shift schedule with no weekends or on-call duties, suitable for CVT/EP Techs with required certifications and licensure, ready to work in a specialized cardiology/radiology environment.
