Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Pediatric Physical Therapy)
Setting: Inpatient Rehab
Patient Population: Pediatrics
Shift: Day
Daily Caseload: 5-8 patients
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: ASAP
First-time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
Weekend Requirement: No
On-Call Requirement: No
Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
Block Schedule: Accommodated
Locals Accepted: Yes
Documentation System: Cerner
Productivity Expectations: 10 half-hour units per day
Special Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Pediatric Physical Therapy
- Prior travel experience is required (first-time travelers not accepted)
Certifications & Licenses Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required based on unit/specialty
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required based on unit/specialty
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Required based on unit/specialty
- Chemotherapy certification - Required based on unit/specialty
- State License - Professional license copy required before start, with primary source verification
- National Tech Certification Verification (for allied professionals)
- Other facility-required certifications and acknowledgements (e.g., Orientation Safety Manual, Pass/Fail Testing where applicable)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification required (transcript/diploma accepted if pending)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Two professional references dated within past two years (cannot pend for start)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 30 days of start including Latex Allergy Information
- Fit test for N95 or equivalent mask within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (TD and DTap not accepted)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 60 days of start or chest x-ray if previously positive
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - 2 vaccines or positive quantitative titer with lab values
- Hepatitis B series and quantitative surface antibody titer with lab values; declination form if declining
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive quantitative titer with lab values
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start including marijuana
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination required for tracking purposes
- Latex questionnaire if allergy info not included on physical exam
