Job Description

• Occupational Therapist needed for swing bed/inpatient care (skilled nursing level of care in a hospital setting)
• Start date: ASAP
• Locals accepted

Requirements

• Texas OT License required
• NBCOT certification preferred but not required
• No explicit years of experience stated; assume minimum entry-level unless otherwise specified by recruiter

Certifications & Competencies (As Required)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exams relevant to profession/specialty
• State License Verification (Primary Source Verification)
• NURSYS Verification (for RNs, if applicable)

Background & Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification upon request
• Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required annually (facility-specific declination form required)
• COVID-19 vaccination required or medical/religious exemption with facility-specific documentation

Documentation & History

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Residency declaration form if working on a compact license
• References:

  • 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel/allied/per diem acute care positions
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care positions
• Performance evaluations required if worked with the facility for over 1 year
