Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – ER Nights

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30–7:00)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Schedule: Every other weekend

Job Description

• Emergency Room nursing on night shift
• Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Preferred minimum of 2 years of nursing experience

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, TNCC, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, Chemotherapy, Management of Assaultive Behavior)

Required Licenses and Verifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license for New Mexico with primary source verification
• NURSYS verification required
• Driver’s License or State ID required
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable if final verification pending)
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
• Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (medical exemptions require provider approval)
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year of start; additional requirements if positive
• Required immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)

Competency and Skills Verification

• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color blindness test (online version accepted)
• Competency exams as applicable to profession (minimum 80% or Angoff score)

• Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA requirements

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• This role offers the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week on night shifts.
• Every other weekend coverage is expected.
