Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – ER Nights
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30–7:00)
Hours per Week: 48 hours
Schedule: Every other weekend
Job Description
- Emergency Room nursing on night shift
- Option to work either 36 or 48 hours per week
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, TNCC, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, Chemotherapy, Management of Assaultive Behavior)
Required Licenses and Verifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license for New Mexico with primary source verification
- NURSYS verification required
- Driver’s License or State ID required
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable if final verification pending)
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (medical exemptions require provider approval)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year of start; additional requirements if positive
- Required immunizations or titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
Competency and Skills Verification
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Competency exams as applicable to profession (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
Additional Requirements
- Complete employment application/resume
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Internal E-Verify compliance
- Photo for badge (clear headshot)
- Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA requirements
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- This role offers the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week on night shifts.
- Every other weekend coverage is expected.
