Medical Surgical LVN / LPN Travel/Contract Position

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7 PM – 7 AM)
Hours per Week: 48

Job Summary

• Work in a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital setting
• Team nursing model with a 1:7 ratio; support available from PCC, RN, etc.
• On-call and weekend work as needed (no weekend block scheduling except possible weekend block consideration)
• Strict 100-mile radius rule; local candidates not accepted
• Start date: ASAP

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of LPN / LVN experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
• Medical Surgical experience
• Experience in a large hospital setting
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Certifications & Training Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC only)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required for certain units (verify if applicable)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC preferred but not required)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport)
• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
• Social Security Card required
• Photo for badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
• Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year (must pass; facial hair not allowed)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low)
  • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low)
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• TB testing: 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30); exemptions require mask wearing in patient areas and documentation

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for one year or more
• Strict submission rules: candidates cannot be submitted to multiple job IDs/facilities simultaneously
• No pending licenses accepted; must be fully compliant with licensing requirements at time of submission
• Return to office (RTO) restrictions must be included at submission; no post-offer approvals allowed

Work Environment & Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs for RNs; Caribbean blue for RRTs; steel gray for surgical and OB techs; scrub prints or embroidery not allowed
• Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers
• Photo badge required prior to start for facility clearance

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical LVN/LPNs with trauma and large hospital experience who have prior travel assignments and are ready for a night shift travel contract in Tennessee.
