Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Marlborough, Massachusetts
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 - 7:15)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Work on a unit with existing Return to Office (RTO) policies; travelers should be mindful of summer RTO schedules.
May float to the Emergency Department to assist with boarder patients as needed.
Charting experience with Epic is preferred.
Weekend requirement: every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Valid government-issued ID required.
Background checks including a 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, national and state-specific searches, and education verification must be current and compliant.
Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance required within 30 days prior to start.
Education verification of highest completed degree required.
Drug testing within 30 days of start, covering a comprehensive panel of substances.
Physical exam within 12 months of start, including a physician’s statement of fitness to work without restrictions.
Immunizations or valid declinations required for:
- COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or declination form)
- Influenza (seasonal vaccine or declination during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer, vaccines, or declination; declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, 3-dose series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccines, documented history, or declination)
Tuberculosis screening: Two PPD tests (one within 90 days, one within a year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; positive TB requires chest X-ray and facility-specific questionnaire.
Pass/fail testing on medication administration required for all RNs; telemetry exam required for RNs working on telemetry units (only one attempt allowed, minimum 80% score).
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 6 months of start and annually thereafter for direct hire RNs working in acute care, critical care, ED, cath lab, PACU, and telemetry units.
NURSYS license verification required within 30 days prior to start.
Skills checklist and employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days required.
Two professional references within the last three years required.

Additional Notes

Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and attestation requirements.
Some certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and others may be required or preferred depending on unit assignment but are not mandatory for this telemetry role.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or equivalent training may be required on site.

This position offers a structured night shift schedule with a 13-week travel contract in a telemetry unit requiring a Massachusetts RN license and at least 2 years of experience. First-time travel nurses are welcome.
