Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (Outpatient)

Location

  • Glen Burnie, Maryland

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Day shift)
  • No weekend scheduling
  • 40 hours per week

Patient Load

  • Average 12-14 patients per day
  • Approximately 60 patients per week
  • Some locations may double book patients

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Outpatient settings, Personal Injury, and Workers' Compensation
  • No new graduates accepted

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant license (state license verification required)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
  • National Tech Certification as applicable

Required Background Checks & Compliance

  • Background check within 1 year including Social Security trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide, sex offender, and FACIS Level 1M; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required annually
  • HHS/OIG check required annually

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 1 year; chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)

Additional Requirements

  • References required within 3 years of start:
    • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
    • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
  • Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, including medication/pharmacology competency

Work Environment & Support

  • Full support staff available including front office and PT aides/techs to assist clinicians
  • Orientation includes meeting staff, EMR introduction, shadowing treatments, and gradual ramp-up to full patient load
