MRI Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Charleston, South Carolina

Job Description

  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients following established protocols for physician interpretation.
  • Work under general supervision and report to site supervisor and radiology manager.
  • May float between two outpatient clinic locations.
  • Shift options:
    • Monday to Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
    • Possible 4x10-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3x12-hour shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
  • Weekend requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • No call requirement.

Required Qualifications

  • MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions.
  • Fit test for N95 mask (specific models required) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually.
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tdap within 10 years or declination form.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination (declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only).
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination.
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination, documented history, or declination.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days prior to start.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (August 1 – March 31).
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated.

Additional Facility Requirements

  • Orientation modules must be completed within 5 days of start.
  • Photo for badge required prior to start (color photo, solid light background, frontal view).
  • Adherence to personal appearance and dress code: teal scrub top and black pants.
  • Charting system used: Epic.
  • Parking is free.
  • Radius rule: must live within 60 miles of the facility.
  • Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
  • During hurricane season (June-November), employees may be assigned to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern.

Notes

  • Radiation badge processing may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start clinical work without it.
  • All required documentation and certifications must be submitted and verified prior to start.
  • No holiday shifts required.
