Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: La Jolla, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours/week)

Job Description

• Work in interventional lab and operating room (OR) settings with the ability to scrub.
• Standby duties with staff rotation.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ARRT certification.

Experience

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology.
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for Interventional Radiology Tech roles.
• Prior travel experience: Not required.

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – required for all clinical positions.
• CRT license and ARRT rad fluoro permit mandatory.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other certifications are not required for this OR/interventional tech role.
• CA Venipuncture Certification required if applicable (typically for CT, MRI, Nuclear Med techs; confirm if relevant).

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start.
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months; chest x-ray if history of positive PPD. Annual TB questionnaire if applicable.
• Tdap vaccine required; no declinations accepted.
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer with boosters if negative or equivocal; no declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination accepted.
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption is on file.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or agency flu declination required year-round.
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start.
• N95 fit test within 1 year prior to start; facility does not provide onsite testing. Must bring approved mask or PAPR if fit test failed.

Background & Documentation

• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county, state, federal, and national criminal and sex offender searches.
• HHS/OIG clearance required.
• Employment application and two satisfactory references required.
• Skills checklist required.
• Primary source verification of CA license within 30 days of start; visual verification with signature and date required.
• Proof of W4 on file.
• Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, standards of conduct acknowledgment, and job description must be completed prior to start.
• Completion of facility learning modules (approx. 8 hours) required before start.

Additional Notes

• No scrub color requirement; scrubs provided by facility.
• Experience with EPIC or Cerner electronic health records preferred but not explicitly required for this role.
• Radiation badges supplied to RNs working in Interventional Radiology; not required for this tech role.
