Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Travel/Contract)
Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Evening, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Schedule: Every 3rd weekend, holidays as needed, floating as needed (may float to Emergency Transitional Care Unit - ETCU)
- Department: Emergency Department (74 beds, Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Chest Pain Accredited Center) with a 22-bed ETCU expansion
- Patient Population: Includes trauma, behavioral health, and COVID-19 patients
- Floating: May rotate between ED and ETCU; Med/Surg nurses provide inpatient-level care in ETCU and cross-train for ED tasks
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications in:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Trauma experience
Onboarding & Compliance
- Pre-Screening: Clinical review to determine fit; final decision by manager after interview
- Documentation:
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Clear, professional passport-style photo for badge
- Various attestations including I9, E-Verify, and subcontractor attestations
- Facility Policies:
- Tobacco and fragrance-free environment
- Must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, and Hepatitis B declination if applicable
- Learning Management System (LMS):
- Required online modules must be completed on PC/laptop prior to start (not accessible via cell phone)
- New hire orientation must be completed by end of first day
- Return to Work: Candidate must be able to start within 7 days of offer
Additional Information
- Blocked schedules are not approved
- No call requirements
- May care for COVID-19 patients
- Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) beds have telemetry capability and some negative pressure rooms
This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with trauma and emergency department expertise who are comfortable working evening shifts and floating between ED and ETCU in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.

Sometimes the schedule can be confusing with rotating shifts and call schedules that don’t align well with your scheduled shifts. But again if there is a major concern they’ll try and work with you on it!
