Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery
  • First-timers: Considered based on experience
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Within Women’s and Infants units only; may occasionally float to Post-Partum/Ante-Partum areas
  • Block Schedule: May be considered based on unit needs
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Certifications

  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate Course
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (as required)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) (as required)
  • State Nursing License (Primary Source Verification)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RNs)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background Check: 7-year criminal history, federal and international searches, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Education Verification (highest degree earned)
  • Competency Exams (Medication/Pharmacology and specialty-specific)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
  • Photo for badge (recent, plain background, shoulders up, no filters)
  • Physical Exam (within last 12 months)
  • Immunizations and Health Screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B (series or positive titer; declinations accepted only under specific circumstances)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
    • Drug Testing (9 or 10 panel drug screen with alcohol test within 1 year)
    • Hepatitis A (required for Labor & Delivery staff)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required October 1 - March 31; exemptions require approved documentation)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: No longer required

Additional Notes

  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
  • Performance and Internal Evaluations required if previously employed with the facility
  • Skills Checklist must be updated annually for applicable units
  • Must discuss Return to Office (RTO) restrictions during interview
