Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN)

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse
  • Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (06:15 AM - 4:45 PM)
  • Average Daily Census: 10 patients, 4 rooms/beds
  • Experience Required: Minimum 3 years nursing experience, preferably with trauma or Medical Operating Room (MOR) experience
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Weekend Requirement: On-call 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
  • On-call Requirement: Yes, one night per week plus weekend rotation
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Open to discussion with manager
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
  • Licensing: Must have active Illinois nursing license or be in the application process
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

On-Call and Cancellation Policy

  • Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay obligation
  • On-call shifts count as called-off shifts if not worked

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid US Driver’s License or State ID
  • Background Checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
  • Illinois-specific registry and criminal background checks as required
  • Education verification (degree/transcript/diploma)
  • Primary source verification of certifications and licenses (BLS, ACLS, NURSYS, etc.)
  • Competency exam for clinical candidates
  • Badge photo (color, plain background)
  • Signed Code of Conduct and other facility-specific documents
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
  • Fit mask test (3M 1860, 1870, or 1870+) required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or documented immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
  • Professional references (2) and skills checklist required

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR nurses with strong cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, and endoscopic surgical skills, who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working in a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital.
