Job Opportunity: House Supervisor - Registered Nurse

Location: Newark, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Responsible for serving as a clinical resource and problem solver during off shifts (evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) across a 180-bed facility with 5 units.
• Facilitates staff mentoring, coaching, and patient flow.
• Oversees residents with diagnoses including dementia, diabetes mellitus, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), cardiac issues, orthopedic treatments, and neurobehavioral conditions.

Shift Details

• Weekly schedule: 3 shifts of 8 hours and 1 shift of 12 hours (total 36 hours/week)
• Shift times vary: 11 PM - 7 AM, 3 PM - 11 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM
• Weekend coverage every other weekend

Units Overview

• Neurobehavioral unit (dementia/Alzheimer’s with violent behaviors)
• Rehab unit (post-orthopedic surgery, cardiac procedures)
• Secure dementia unit (residents at risk for elopement)
• Long-term care units (2 units)

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of House Supervisor experience, including within the last year
• Previous charge nurse experience and experience in charge roles
• Proficient in EPIC electronic health record system
• Code management and emergency preparedness
• De-escalation techniques and managing assaultive behavior
• HIPAA guidelines compliance and sentinel events monitoring and reporting
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and EFM certifications issued by the American Heart Association
• Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
• First-time travelers accepted
