Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Description

  • 36 private rooms serving patients from young adults to geriatric.
  • Focus on medical-level cardiac care and recovery from cardiac interventions such as:
    • Cardiac surgery
    • Coronary artery stent placement
    • Pacemaker implant
  • Also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients.

Shift

  • 3 shifts of 12-hour nights

Patient Ratios

  • Approximately 1 nurse to 5-6 patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Telemetry nursing experience of at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross as applicable:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Chemotherapy (CHEMO) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
