Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Location: Taos, New Mexico

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and pediatrics. The candidate should be comfortable caring for neonates and pediatric patients. The position follows an every-other-week (EOW) rotation schedule.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA preferred).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required; advanced NRP certification required for ER and LDRP RNs. Skills checks may be completed onsite if the online portion is completed prior to start.

Additional Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9 or attestation).
• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
• Background check: 7-year criminal history check within one year of start, updated annually.
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 12 months.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
  • Vaccinations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Tdap vaccine within the past 10 years.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season.
  • COVID vaccination series or declination.
• Completion of facility-specific orientation, safety, and competency exams prior to start.
• Submission of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete employment application/resume with 7-year work history including locations, gaps, and end dates in MM/YYYY format.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Local radius: 75 miles.
• Rotation: Every other week (EOW).

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Fit testing for masks will be arranged onsite during orientation.
• Professional photograph required prior to arrival for badge issuance.
• Facility-specific forms and policies must be signed prior to start.
